i am a maker.
i sit in a small room surrounded by paper people and creatures....

sometimes i let them go.
to good homes only..

each of the curious items you will see here are original and one off

they have been made using old, torn, reclaimed and beautiful papers and cloth with the odd item of old, found treasure....

Friday 24 October 2014

she gathers....

she spent the daylight hours wisely....
she had many a home fire to keep burning...
her daily task was a simple one - collect kindling from dawn to dusk and carry it the many miles back to home..

pile after pile after pile

long long days

in all weather...

she never once complained

born a gatherer to parents that adored her and her older 19 siblings.....

Abigail Ash Montgomery .... born under the huge Ash tree in the back paddock as her mama pegged out the never ending mountain of washing...
born quickly and efficiently
kissed, named and swaddled all between the washing of the undergarments and  the tea towels...

nobody knew Abigail was coming
but nobody was surprised..
not after the 19 that came before her....

Abigail Ash Montgomery was happy but wanted more, she had big hopes and dreams that she pondered on daily as she trekked through the forest...

Abigail Ash Montgomery wanted to be a pilot....
